Basic Check-up Panel

The Basic Check-up Panel includes tests to evaluate essential metabolic and chemical functions in the body and to screen for cardiac risk and thyroid or kidney/liver disorders.

Even if you are feeling great, establishing a baseline for your individual health is an important first step on the path to a healthier body and a longer life. You need to know your starting point for basic metabolic, chemical and cardiac function to set goals for overall improvement.   These tests can provide early warning signs of cardiac risks or the early onset of numerous diseases that don’t have symptoms until it’s too late. Heart disease is the #1 killer in the US and type 2 diabetes is on the rise. These diseases can be prevented or even reversed. Don’t let diabetes, heart disease or liver/kidney disease sneak up on you!

The tests included in the Basic Check-up Panel provide valuable information in the following areas:

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) with Differential screens for blood disorders such as anemia and certain cancers like leukemia. It can also identify infections.

The Comprehensive Metabolic Panel provides valuable information about metabolic and chemical processes in the body. It screens for chemical imbalances, protein, electrolytes and enzyme levels that can warn of disease before symptoms are noticeable.

The Lipids Test provides important information about your risk of heart disease by measuring cholesterol levels for both “good” and “bad” cholesterol and triglycerides.

The Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test measures thyroid function which often slows down as we age.

The Urinalysis Test screens for metabolic or kidney disorders.

The five tests in the Basic Check-up Panel are typically ordered during an annual doctor’s visit but with this panel can be done without setting an appointment or waiting in the doctor’s office.

Evaluating your health periodically with or without a visit to your doctor can provide early warning signs of disease or cardiovascular disease risk.

The Basic Check-up Panel consists of the following tests:

  1. Complete Blood Count with Differential
  2. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (14 essential tests)
  3. Lipid Panel (Total Cholesterol, LDL/HDL, and triglycerides)
  4. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test
  5. Urinalysis Test (screens for metabolic and liver/kidney disorders)

Fasting is required for the Basic Check-up Panel. Do not eat or drink anything (except water) for at least 8 hours before the test.
